The Balkan Weather Tales series draws from Bulgarian folklore, reimagining mythological beings once used to explain natural forces like drought, storms, or circadian rhythms. These creatures, once brought to life through song and oral tradition, now resurface in layered, hypnotic drawings that bridge ancient belief systems and contemporary anxieties. In these works, the mystical and the mundane coexist, offering a space where the past haunts the present and the unknown continues to hold power. The series features works on paper, in gouache, oil pastel and gold leaf.
